Are you looking for the perfect watch that can stand up to your tough lifestyle? There are two that come to mind: the Casio Baby-G and the Casio G shock. These two watches are remarkably similar. They are both tough and durable. They can withstand large falls and impacts that other watches would crumble under. They can both be used in water, and they both have sleek designs that set them apart from other watches.

Their similarities make sense, though. After all, the Baby-G is just a smaller version of the G shock. Despite their similarities, however, there are a few unique differences you should consider before you decide to make a purchase.

Analyzing the Differences

Men vs. Women – One of the biggest differences between these two watches is that the G shock is made for men, and the Baby-G is made for women. The sizes of the straps and the watch’s face are different because of this. The Baby-G’s face is generally about the same in length, but it is usually not as deep as the men’s version of the watch.
Water Resistance – A G shock watch is generally (although not always) water resistant for up to 200 meters. While some Baby-G’s are as well, many are only resistant for up to 100 meters. Unless your favourite activity is snorkelling or deep sea diving, however, this should not be a problem.
Colour – The men’s version of this watch generally comes in very few colours, like black, red, silver, gray, and white. The women’s version, however, is much more colourful. You can find these watches in red, pink, green, white, purple, black, blue, and silver. This allows women to pick and choose different and vibrant colours to match any outfit they put on.

What do These Watches Have in Common?

Aside from their sleek look and unmatchable durability, these two watch styles have several features in common, including:

Temperature resistance – Some of the watches can withstand temperatures as low as -20 degrees Celsius.
Electro-luminescent backlight – The backlight on these two types of watches allows you to enjoy them anytime- no matter what time of day it is.
Auto-Calendar – These Casio watches are programmed so you will not only know the time, but the date as well. While the number of years the auto-calendar is programmed until will vary, depending on the exact version you purchase, some are programmed all the way until 2099.
Long Battery Life – The Casio G shock and Baby-G both come with long-lasting batteries. You can use these watches for up to two years before you need to replace them.
Stopwatch – Are you in training or simply trying to lose weight? These watches can help with one hour countdown timers, complete with an auto-repeat option, and a one hour stopwatch.

Whether you are a man or a woman, you are going to enjoy all of the unique features available to you from Casio’s line of G shock watches. If you are a woman, you can enjoy the traditional G shock gives a masculine flair and has all the bells and whistles you need, and if you are a woman, you can enjoy all the same great features, but with a more feminine and colourful accessory.

Many people know about the feud in the mid 90’s between the Eastcoast and Westcoast rap stars. But they may not be aware of how the events of this incident originally transpired. The two men at the center of the feud were the Notorious B.I.G. (or Christopher Wallace, also known as Biggie) and Tupac Shakur (or 2pac). 2pac hailed from the Westcoast, while Biggie was representative of the Eastcoast. The feud began between these two men, and eventually became bigger than either one of them could ever imagine.

While unknown events between Shakur and Wallace may have occurred prior to 1994, the first known incident was a robbery and shooting that happened at Quad Studios in New York City. It’s widely accepted in the Hip Hop industry that this event is what caused initial dispute between the two men and what ultimately led to the bicoastal beef.

Tupac was scheduled to record in the studio on the night of November 30, 1994. Upon entering the building, he was assaulted and robbed by 2 men in ski masks. They ordered him and the people he was with to lie on the ground. Tupac refused and reached for his pistol, at which point one of the men shot him. It’s unclear whether Shakur accidentally shot himself in the thigh, but many people believe that at least one, or possibly two shots may have been caused by Pac himself when the pistol he was reaching for accidentally discharged. The two men fled the scene, at which point members of Wallace’s entourage came down to the lobby to see what happened. Shakur felt he was setup because of the timing of the robbery and the fact that he was the only one robbed, despite the fact that majority of B.I.G.’s entourage had expensive jewelry on. Tupac was still coherent as paramedics arrived, and as they carried him out of Quad Studios on a stretcher, he lifted his hand and pointed a middle finger at the members of Bad Boy Records (Biggie’s crew). A photographer snapped a photo of 2pac at this very moment and the photo was distributed and became famous overnight as the media showed the photo while reporting on the incident.

2pac then had to appear for court for his rape case, and he showed up in a wheelchair with a bandage on his head from where he had been shot. The rape charges were dropped, but the judge convicted him of sexual abuse for touching a woman’s buttocks. He was already on probation, so he was sentenced to 18 months to 4 years in prison. While in prison, he became increasingly suspicious of B.I.G.’s role in the shooting. People in prison had told him that word on the street was that he was shot by 2 men who worked for a criminal enterprise that helped Bad Boy in their early days by funding them with illegal proceeds. The close association between these men and Bad Boy was a revelation to Shakur, because he had been approached by these 2 men on a separate occasion and was asked to sign to Bad Boy Records, which he had refused to do.The fact that Biggie didn’t visit 2pac in prison made him even more suspicious of his former friend. Also, Notorious released a song entitled “Who Shot Ya”, which Shakur took offense to and assumed was written about him.

11 months later, Suge Knight bailed Pac out of prison, and Tupac immediately went to work in the studio. Upon his release, he recorded a number of songs in which he took aim at Bad Boy and Wallace. He also recorded one song with Wallace’s wife, Faith Evans. After 2pac released the song Hit Em Up, a number of Eastcoast rappers took offense and thought that he was insulting most rappers out of NY. Puff Daddy, the CEO of Bad Boy and target of Shakur’s insults, released a few underground tracks in which he responded to 2pac and insulted him and called him derogatory names. This fallout between 2pac and his associates at Death Row, and Biggie and his associates at Bad Boy, is what started the East/West dispute.

As a salesperson, your success depends entirely on your ability to meet (and in reality, exceed) the needs of your customers.

In the past, salespeople were taught scripts and closes and every conceivable way to “bend” the customer to their will, to “break” their resistance, to get the signature on the contract.

In 2008, how’s that working for you?

Dinosaurs died off and vanished for one reason and one reason only. They lacked the ability to adapt to a changing world. The same is true for the “old school” sales gurus. They served a purpose in their day. They prepared legions of sales people for cold calling, scripted presentations, and closing techniques.

The old school is dead. Long live the old school.

In 2008, your ability to succeed as a sales person is linked to your ability to understand a customer’s need and provide a solution. Your ability to transcend the obvious, your ability to sift through sand and water and find the nuggets of pure gold, will set you apart from your competition.

I recently visited a client to discuss ways to amplify the marketing message on his Web Site. We discussed testimonials. In the Web world, testimonials either ring out like the Liberty Bell or fall upon deaf ears. The “I really like (fill in provider name); Thanks (fill in fill in provider name)” brand of testimonials are not testimonials at all. They’re worthless. The average visitor to a Web Site featuring this kind of fluff reads these words and responds with “so what?”

My client also said that he did not want to publish the names of his customers on his Web Site. Doing so would offer up a free cold call list to his competitors. He said that his company regularly participates in Customer Satisfaction Surveys, and that he has a wealth of information as a result.

Did you spot that window of opportunity opening?

I suggested that rather than post the “classic” testimonials on his Web Site, we would harvest the Customer Satisfaction Surveys for all of the reasons why his current customers do business with his company. We would craft a marketing message that emphasized his excellent customer service and quality standards.

He sat, completely quiet, smiling, and nodding his head. Customer need met. Sale closed. That’s how it’s done.

Take the time, have the conversations, and do whatever you need to do to foster a genuine passion for the success of your clients. Once you accomplish this, you will close every sale.

This is something that confuses a lot of people and leaves them unsure of which to get when they are looking to buy one. In reality there is no difference between them, a psychrometer is actually a type of hygrometer.

A hygrometer is a device that is used to measure the moisture content of the air, basically this means the relative humidity and the dew point. There are several different ways that this can be done. The oldest and the most common is to use a dry bulb and a wet bulb thermometer, this is what is known as a psychrometer.

In order to determine the relative humidity and dew point with a psychrometer you need to have a dry bulb thermometer and a wet bulb thermometer so that you can compare the difference. A wet bulb is simply a thermometer that has a muslin that is soaked in water over the bulb part. This works because the latent heat of evaporation will cause the wet bulb temperature to read lower than the dry bulb, this difference can then be used to find the relative humidity and dew point by looking them up in a chart.

Professional weather stations will use a psychrometer to determine the dew point and relative humidity as they are the most accurate option available. They usually do this by having the two thermometers permanently mounted in a Stevenson Screen. It is also possible to do it with a sling psychrometer which is a portable device that holds the two thermometers, when you want to measure the moisture content of the air you spin the psychrometer in order to allow the thermometers to get an accurate temperature reading.

There are other ways that you can measure the moisture content of the air, these include changes in capacitance, resistance or thermal conductivity. These are measured with electronic devices that are usually labelled as hygrometers although you will often see them listed as dew point meters and confusingly sometimes even as psychrometers. The simple answer to the difference between a hygrometer and a psychrometer is that the electronic versions are hygrometers the ones with liquid thermometers are psychrometers.

The next question then is obviously which is the best choice for measuring the moisture content of the air. This will depend on your needs. If you are a meteorologist or somebody else for whom accuracy is the most important consideration you are going to need a psychrometer. There are others who need to determine the moisture content of the air like HVAC technicians and in some cases painters will value convenience over complete accuracy. For them an electronic hygrometer is usually the best option as it is easy to read and it works quickly. For most users you don’t need accuracy to a tenth of a degree so the electronic version is fine.

The best choice if you are somebody who is simply interested in the weather is probably neither a hygrometer or a psychrometer. Most home weather stations have a hygrometer feature and given that they can measure all of the other weather parameters they make a good option for most home users.

A hygrometer is an important tool if you are serious about the weather. You can learn more about them at my website.

There seems to be a never ending argument among marketing and
sales professionals as to what really is the difference between
marketing and sales functions. More often than not, both
business activity terms are used to describe any business
activity that is involved in increasing revenues. For small
businesses, with limited resources, there often is no practical
difference in marketing and sales functions, all revenue
generating activities are typically implemented by the same
personnel.

As a company grows in revenues and number of personnel, it
typically follows a logical business function progression of
“specialization”, a process where the lines between more
generic, departmental descriptions and functions became much
more definitive and associated functional responsibilities
become much more focused. Marketing and sales functions are no
exception.

Marketing and sales functions are diverse yet very
interdependent. Typically “sales” cannot exceed revenue
objectives without an effective marketing planning and support,
and “marketing” directives ultimately becomes useless without
sales to implement the plan.

Like many complex business issues, it is sometimes easier to
define something by what it’s NOT as it is to define it by what
it is. Let’s take a closer look at marketing to better define
what sales is not.

Simply defining “marketing” as the “Four P’s”, product, price,
place and promotion, based on your Marketing 101 class in
college is not practical in today’s global markets. In a
general sense, marketing is more theoretic than sales, focused
on purchase causality and is more prescriptive in purpose than
descriptive. Marketing involves micro and macro market analysis
focused on strategic intentions where sales is driven more by
tactical challenges and customer relations. Let’s take a closer
look at how marketing is truly different from sales:

Marketing responsibilities are distinct from sales in that
marketing:

* Establishes and justifies the company’s best competitive
position within a market

* Initially creates, helps sustain, and rigorously interprets
customer relationships

* Locates and profiles potential markets and key participants
within

* Generates quality sales leads

* Develops effective selling tools

* Formally analyzes and tracks competitor’s business strategies
and tactics

* Defines, prioritizes and justifies new product or service
improvements and developments

* Promotes an explicit company product or service image

* Facilitates information transfer from customers to the rest of
the company

* Simplifies the customer’s product or service procurement
process

A full time Marketing Manager would be responsible for the
following tasks:

New Product Rollouts:

Strategy development, program incentives, timing and media
coverage

corporate management strategies

Board Meeting Participation:

strategies and tactics

Corporate Vision Statement:

Organization

Corporate Identity and Image:

Create, maintain, improve and “manage” all corporate images and
symbols

To a “pure” marketer, the marketing role in a company is not
just a business function, but a business philosophy. An
effective marketer truly believes “dominating” their target
market is “owning” their market. The more a marketer can do to
maintain market leadership the more effective they are
perceived within the organization and within the industry.

As customer retention has become more of a business priority in
our intensifying competitive markets, the marketing function
has evolved from influencing potential customers to involving
them the company’s business planning and advancement. Effective
marketing also has blurred the distinction between product and
service and continues to apply more influence on the company’s
sales representation priorities.

In conclusion, marketing and sales functions are deeply rooted
in each other’s purpose and revenue growth intentions. There
are few functional areas in business that relate more to each
other. So the next time you hear someone say the word “sales”,
when the appropriate description would have been “marketing”,
or vise versa, think of this article and choose from any one of
these documented business functions to make your point of
distinction!

Electrical Wire

There is all different types of electrical wiring for different applications. We will break it down for you piece by piece. Most common terms for copper electrical wire would be building wire, THHN /THWN, Romex wire, UF-B Cable and Type SE (service entrance cable). All of these copper wires and cables have their own advantages and disadvantages based on the individual wiring application. Each one will be described in more detail below. Building Wire is just another broad term used in the same way as electrical wire. Since it’s used mostly in the building / construction field its become a popular term.

THHN / THWN Wire

THHN / THWN-2 copper electrical wire is the most basic form of electrical wire which is used in houses, buildings and control circuits not exceeding 600 Volts. All of our THHN electrical wire is dual rated with THWN-2 because the THWN is so popular that South Wire (Largest Electrical wire manufacturer in the USA) decided to put both ratings on all their THHN building wire. It’s composed of soft drawn bare copper strands, covered with a PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) insulation and a nylon coating for easy installation in cable tray. The 18 awg through 10 awg come in stranded or solid copper. The stranded wire is more flexible, while the solid wire is easier to run / snake through tough areas.

More specifically, THHN wire is run through houses and buildings to light switches, electrical outlets and light fixtures. The smaller gauge sizes of THHN is most commonly sold in 500′ spools which a lot of suppliers won’t cut. WesBell Electronics will cut the #18 – #10 to 100′ spools and cut the #8 – 1000 mcm per foot! That’s right, you can buy 1 foot of wire if needed! WesBell understands that every application is different and doesn’t want contractors to have to suffer excess copper wire. When adding that into the the resale price it could cost you the job! Buy exact lengths, get exact quotes and don’t have any extra copper at the end of it! Copper has jumped back up to over $2.00/lb, so every foot of wire counts!

Romex Wire

Romex copper electrical wires and cables are made up of multiple THHN / THWN wires (conductors). Example; Romex 12/2 is 2 THHN wires and a bare uninsulated ground wire covered with an overall PVC jacket. This way electrical contractors only have to run one bulk wire instead of either running 3 separate wires or individually running each wire. Romex wire is ONLY used for indoor applications. It has NO protection against moisture, gas or solvents. It should NOT be used outdoors even if it’s in cable tray.

UF-B Cable

UF-B (Underground Feeder) copper electrical wires and cables are a slight upgrade from Romex wiring. It has the same concept of THHN conductors wrapped with a jacket except it’s a more complex jacket. The bonus to UF-B Cable is that it can go outdoors and even directly underground. There’s no need for conduit or cable tray and the price difference isn’t that significant. If you need the cable to go outdoors at all make sure you get UF-B instead of Romex because it’s not worth the hassle of replacing the Romex down the road over something roughly 10-15% higher in cost.

Service Entrance Cable Type SE

Sometimes you will see an “R” (SER) or a “U” (SEU) after the Type SE. The R stands for round (more common) and the U stands for flat. Southwire Type SE electrical cable, service entrance cable is primarily used to convey power from the service drop to the meter base and from the meter base to the distribution panel board; however, the cable may be used in all applications where Type SE cable is permitted. SER may be used in wet or dry locations at temperatures not to exceed 90°C. Voltage rating is 600 volts. Southwire Type SE cable is constructed with sunlight resistant Type XHHW-2 conductors or Type THHN/THWN conductors.

Copper conductors are annealed (soft) copper. Cable assembly plus reinforcement tape are jacketed with sunlight resistant gray polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Available as 1 conductor with a concentric ground, 2 conductor with a round or concentric ground, or 3 conductor with a bare ground. SE cable is jacketed with gray sunlight resistant polyvinyl chloride (PVC).

Glucose is the sugar our body will use for fuel to be used in every cell of our body for energy. Not enough blood glucose, or blood sugar, and you will not have the proper energy and feel tired. This is where insulin comes into play.

The cells in your body have receptors that catch the sugar from the blood stream when the cell needs it. The job of insulin is to open the receptor for the sugar. This arrangement works fine when things are normal.

What can go wrong? In type 1 diabetes the problem is that the pancreas has stopped producing enough insulin or maybe none at all. In this case, insulin is provided by injection with a needle. Type 1 diabetes usually shows up before a person is 30 years old.

On the other hand, type 2 diabetes usually starts when a person is over 40 years of age. In this form of diabetes, the cells of the body have receptors that are not allowing the insulin to do its job and the blood sugar just builds up and is not used. The cells are not getting their fuel and are being damaged even while there is plenty of glucose floating by.

Type 2 diabetes tends to run in families, but there is more control over who gets it than type 1. Being overweight, underactive, a smoker, and even race play a role in who is more at risk.

There is always more research being done, but we do know that careful watching of your blood sugar, blood pressure, and cholesterol along with an active lifestyle is your best defence against this disease and its complications.

There are many causes of pain in the shoulder blades. Pain between the shoulder blades can occur as a result of mundane problems such as working at the computer too long without a break. Some causes though are serious and must be addressed immediately.

Here are some them:

Gall Bladder Pain

Sporadic pains in the middle of the upper abdomen, or just below the ribs on the right side are felt. The pain may spread to the right shoulder or between the shoulder blades. The pain can be accompanied by nausea and vomiting and sometimes excessive gas. The attack can last from a few minutes to two to three hours before getting better. The frequency and severity of attacks is very variable. Attacks can be triggered by eating fatty foods such as chocolate, cheese or pastry. It can be difficult to distinguish the pain from other diseases, such as: gastric ulcer, back problems, heart pains, pneumonia and kidney stones.

Neck source from arthritis or disc disease

This is a general pain located in the neck area and may be associated with stiffness in the neck muscles. The pain may radiate down to the shoulder or between the shoulder blades. It may also radiate out into the arm, the hand, or up into the head, causing a one-sided or double-sided headache. The muscles in the neck are tense, sore and feel hard to the touch. Acute pain can give rise to abnormal neck posture in which the head is forced to turn to one side; this condition is known as torticollis.
The pain at the base of the skull may be accompanied by a feeling of weakness in the shoulders and arms. There may be a prickly or tingling sensation in the arms and fingers.

Angina Pectoris

Angina pectoris derives from Latin and translates as ‘tight chest’. It feels like a heavy, crushing pain or a constricting feeling in the center of the chest behind the breast bone (sternum) or on the left side of the front of the chest. The pain can radiate out to either one or both arms, more often the left. It can be experienced in the throat, jaw, the stomach and, more rarely, between the shoulder blades.

Angina is often brought on by:

o physical exercise

o psychological stress

o extreme cold

o a heavy meal.

Once these trigger factors stop, the pain generally ends quickly, usually within 2 to 10 minutes.

Liver Cancer

Liver cancer, an abnormal cell growth in the liver presents in two ways:

o Primary cancer means that the cancer started in the liver

o Secondary cancer of the liver occurs when a cancer starts someplace else and spreads to the liver.

The early warning signs of liver cancer:

A hard lump in the abdomen, below the rib cage on the right side.

Discomfort in the upper abdomen on the right side.

Pain around the right shoulder blade, or pain between the shoulder blades.

Yellowish skin color (jaundice)

Abdominal swelling causing a feeling of fullness

Esophageal Cancer

Esophageal cancer appears as a tumor, or an abnormal growth of cells in the esophagus. The esophagus is the food passageway that connects the throat to the stomach.

Esophageal cancer usually does not cause any symptoms until the cancer has advanced to a stage that is too late for effective treatment. The main symptom is difficulty in swallowing food. There is a frequent sensation of food getting stuck in the throat or chest.

Signs of advanced esophageal cancer include:

Pain when swallowing.

Pain in the throat or back, behind the breastbone or pain between the shoulder blades.

Decreased appetite and weight loss.

Hiccups with the feeling of food getting stuck in the throat or chest.

Vomiting and coughing up blood.

Aortic dissection

When the aorta, the major artery leading from the heart, tears, there can be sudden sharp pain in the spine between the shoulder blades. This is an obvious surgical emergency.

Humans and mold have lived together since the very beginning, but mold has become a big health issue only recently. So many cases of toxic mold poisoning have come to light recently that people can’t help but be concerned.

Because this concern is so new, we have only just begun studying the effects of black mold and pregnancy. There isn’t much real evidence, but doctors are very concerned about how exposure to black mold during pregnancy can affect babies.

Black Mold and Birth Defects

There are countless stories of women being exposed to mold during pregnancy and suffering miscarriage or birth defects. However, there is not yet any solid hard scientific evidence that exposure to mold directly causes birth defects. Studies with animals have shown that there is a definite link between black mold and pregnancy, but animals are different than humans, so the results are somewhat inconclusive.

Still, most doctors assume that there is some connection, and that pregnant women should be careful about exposure.

Asthma and Pregnancy

Modern scientific studies say that the causes of lifelong chronic allergies are both genetic and environmental.

A lot of evidence states that the development of allergies and asthma actually begins in the womb. This is especially the case with asthma. Researchers are finding out that asthma may not be genetic at all. It is caused by triggers in the environment. Studies show that asthma sufferers develop the condition at some point in their lives due to exposure to toxins, such as mold. It may begin in the uterus.

SIDS And Mold

Some studies have suggested that there may be a link between Sudden Infant Death Syndrome and exposure to black mold in the womb. There are also a variety of chronic fatigue illnesses that children who have been exposed to mold may suffer. Still, the studies have not been done to show whether this is fully the case or not.

What You Can Do

If you have just found that you are pregnant, or if you are just starting to worry about mold, you should get your home or workplace tested for mold. You can get a home testing kit from the hardware store. It is probably a good idea to start off your pregnancy in a mold-free environment. Nobody knows the exact relation between mold and birth defects, allergies and asthma, but it’s better to be safe than sorry.

For your baby’s health, it is also important to keep your house mold-free after birth. There are no studies showing that mold has an effect on breast feeding, but mold is definitely unhealthy for your baby’s general health.

One more thing to think about is your workplace. Many women work in the early or middle stages of pregnancy and it is often more difficult to find mold in a building where you work than in your home. Ask your boss about mold inspections, especially if you work in an old building. If you can see or smell mold in your workplace, you are definitely in danger.

If your boss or supervisor will not do anything about the mold problem, you can seek a legal solution. There are laws to protect you and your unborn baby’s health.

Today, it is hard to imagine life without a computer or television and other electronic gadgets that have become so commonplace since the advent of modern technology that it is leaving us and our children with little time to enjoy nature and the outdoors. Not so long ago, parents derived much pleasure from seeing their kids cavorting in the outdoors beneath the sun or climbing trees and remaining somewhat more active than the kids of today who have found a virtual world in which to remain engrossed. Thus, technology and childhood obesity are closely related because we have now become accustomed to having our eyes glued to the computer screen or television screen and are otherwise taken up with different forms of electronic entertainment.

Boob-Tube And More Boob-Tube

The new lifestyle that has taken over our children’s lives leaves little time for them to exercise, go out and remain otherwise active and it is far removed from the lifestyle our parents enjoyed many years ago. Along with the sedentary life that our children have become accustomed to, technology and childhood obesity have become closely intertwined and our concern for our health has also taken a backseat as the life in front of the boob-tube continues to take up all of our children’s time at the expense of their health.

It is thus imperative to understand the reason why technology and childhood obesity are going hand in hand, and when one considers the fact that child obesity has gone up by more than three times in the recent past, the problem has actually now reached epidemic proportions and it seems that now we are breeding obesity in our homes as we are letting our children spend all of their time in front of the television or other electronic devices.

The fact is that when we and our children sit immobile for hours on end watching television or working on the computer or playing video games, we neglect to exercise and along with a diet consisting of sodas and fast foods are breeding obesity like never before. Thus, technology and childhood obesity are causing our children to eat more, exercise less and live sedentary lifestyles which is a cocktail that only serves up more obese children in our population today.

No doubt, there are a number of other factors too that contribute to obesity, but television is a prime example of how technology and childhood obesity combine to the detriment of our health. Staying glued to the television will mean a lack of exercise, focusing on excessive eating followed by an unhealthy lifestyle and thus contributing to furthering the incidence of obesity in our children.

Television and the computer are prime examples of how technology and childhood obesity are making kids do things that are bad for them and if you want your kid to not become obese, you should discourage him from watching too much television, which is a major reason why children become obese, and to also address obesity as a health problem which needs to be addressed and not to consider obesity as merely being a problem with how the child looks.
